Statistics issued by the Ministry of Interior (MoI) showed that more than 3mn transactions were completed at the General Directorate of Passports and its departments and electronic platforms, QNA reported yesterday.
The completed transactions in the departments affiliated with the General Department of Passports during the aforementioned month reached 2,690,303, while the number of completed transactions in the service centres of the Unified Services Department spread across the country reached 238,460. 
When it came to the number of transactions completed at MoI services centres during January, the statistics indicate that the Al Rayyan Services Centre topped with 24.6% of visa- and residency-related transactions, right above Wakra Services Centre with 18.4%, followed by Mesaimeer with 11.3%. The statistics also showed that more than 84,000 special transactions were completed, including 80,733 transactions in the Recruitment Applications Reviewing Committee, 759 transactions for the elderly and persons with disabilities, and 2,536 other transactions.
The total number of entry and exit movements through Hamad International Airport in January amounted to 1,215,840, including 436,904 movements through e-gates.
The statistics also showed an increase in the electronic services transactions in January, exceeding half a million (501,502). These included 301,048 transactions through the MoI website, 200,176 transactions through Metrash2 and 278 transactions through the Qatar e-government portal, Hukoomi.
