*Qatar, Jordan stress commitment to advance bilateral ties in all fields

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and King Abdullah II bin al-Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan held Sunday an official talks session that dealt with the strong bilateral relations and the means to enhance them, in addition to the latest developments in the region.
During the session, which was held at Al Husseiniya Palace in Amman, the Amir and King Abdullah expressed their satisfaction with the growth of bilateral ties, and stressed their commitment to advancing it further in all fields, particularly the economic and investment fields.

The two sides stressed the importance of activating the Qatar-Jordanian Supreme Joint Committee, and enhancing cooperation in the fields of energy, infrastructure, and higher education.
The University of Jordan will provide a number of academic courses under Lusail University's umbrella, in addition to the exchange of expertise and training that will be carried as part of the preparations for hosting the FIFA 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
His Highness the Amir directed the creation of 10,000 job opportunities in Qatar for Jordanian nationals, in addition to the 10,000 job opportunities that were announced in August 2018, the opening of a centre in Jordan to facilitate the process, and the support of the Jordanian military retirement fund with $30mn.
The talks also dealt with a number of regional and international issues of joint interest, led by the Palestinian issue. The two leaders stressed the importance of supporting the Palestinian people in obtaining their legitimate rights and to establish their own independent state on the borders of 1967 with East Al Quds as its capital, and stressed on the importance of reaching political resolutions to the crises facing the region in order to maintain stability and security.
The session was attended by members of the official delegation accompanying the Amir.
It was attended on the Jordanian side by President of the Jordan Football Association Prince Ali bin al-Hussein, Prime Minister Dr Omar Razzaz, and a number of ministers, advisers at the Royal Hashemite Court, and ranking military officials.
Earlier upon arrival at the Queen Alia International Airport for a two-day official visit, His Highness the Amir was welcomed by King Abdullah II bin al-Hussein; Prince Faisal bin al-Hussein, Adviser to the King and Chairman of the National Policies Council; Prince Ali bin al-Hussein, President of Jordan Football Association; Prince Hashim bin al-Hussein ,Chief Royal Councilor; a lineup of their highness princes; Prime Minister of Jordan Dr Omar Razzaz; Chief of the Royal Hashemite Court Yousef al-Isawi; Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi; President of the Jordanian Senate Faisal al-Fayez; Speaker of Jordan's House of Representatives Atef Tarawneh; a lineup of ministers and senior military and civil officials; Ambassador of Qatar to Jordan Sheikh Saud bin Nasser bin Jassim al-Thani; Jordan's ambassador to Qatar Zaid Mufleh al-Lawzi and members of the Qatari embassy in Jordan.
His Highness the Amir was accorded an official reception ceremony at the airport, which included the 21-cannon salute and playing the national anthems of the two countries.
The Amir is accompanied by an official delegation.
