The meeting between His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and King Abdullah of Jordan will discusses bilateral relations and regional challenges, in light of the current regional developments, especially the central topic, which is the Palestinian issue, Jordan’s ambassador to Qatar Zaid Mufleh al-Lawzi has said.
The ambassador stressed in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the Amir’s visit to Jordan comes will witnesses great welcome from Jordanians, officially and in public.
Ambassador al-Lawzi highlighted the decades-old fraternal Qatari-Jordanian relations, pointing out that the members of Jordanian community in Qatar work in various sectors of the country.
He also praised the initiative of the Amir to allocate US$500mn investment opportunities in support of Jordan, and provide job opportunities for Jordanians in Qatar, that have great impact on the two countries.
The trade exchange between Qatar and Jordan exceeds one QR1bn, while the Qatari investments in Jordan are over $1.3bn, including $1.1bn bank investments, al-Lawzi said, expressing his hope that these investments and trade exchanges between the two countries will grow to the highest levels in the future.
He said that next month will witness a visit of a delegation from the Jordan Investment Commission (JIC) to meet with Qatari businessmen and inform them about investment opportunities in Jordan. Last October, there were several visits between the two sides.   - QNA
