The "Made in Qatar" exhibition was concluded in Kuwait Saturday, even as the four-day event secured many contracts and partnerships forged by Qatari and Kuwaiti companies.
Organised by the Qatar Chamber, the event was held in co-operation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Qatar Development Bank (QDB) as strategic partner, and in co-ordination with the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The event saw the participation of some 220 Qatari manufacturing companies, and recorded a large turnout from Kuwaiti businessmen and representatives of Kuwaiti companies from all sectors. During their visit to the expo, Kuwaiti businessmen met with their Qatari counterparts to learn about the participating industries.

On the sidelines of the expo, a multitude of agreements and partnership contracts were signed between both sides, Qatar Chamber said in a statement. The chamber’s chairman, Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim al-Thani, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Kuwait for hosting the exhibition, particularly the patronage of Kuwait's Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khalid al-Hamad al-Sabah.
Sheikh Khalifa praised the success of the expo in promoting the Qatari industry in Kuwait, noting that the achievement would pave the way for more co-operation between Qatari and Kuwaiti manufacturers.
He said the exhibition concluded with the signing of many agreements, MoUs and partnerships between both parties. He said this affirms that the accomplishments promise more co-operation between Qatari and Kuwaiti businessmen for the advantage of both countries’ economies.
Sheikh Khalifa also extended his gratitude to HE the Minister of Commerce and Industry Ali bin Ahmed al-Kuwari and his Kuwaiti counterpart, Khaled Nasser Abdullah al-Roudan, who both inaugurated and toured the exhibition.
He also thanked the efforts of the Kuwait Chamber for holding the event and for hosting the business forum, which reviewed ways to enhance commercial co-operation between both parties.
Exhibitors and participants of the expo had, likewise, praised the success of "Made in Qatar" in promoting Qatari industry and products. He noted that Qatar was successful in establishing its industries in all sectors, especially in food security.
Al-Mana noted that Qatari products are “of high quality,” which enabled them reach global markets. He underscored to the role of QDB in enhancing entrepreneurship and opening new markets for SMEs with a view to increasing non-oil exports.
Hosam al-Sayed, sales manager at Frico Factory, said this is the company’s third time to participate in the exhibition. He noted that the factory is a Qatar-Kuwait joint investment specialising in air conditioners. He also praised the large turnout of Kuwaiti businessmen and investors who are eager to learn more about Qatari industry.
