HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani met Secretary of the Russian Federation Security Council Nikolai Patrushev at the Amiri Diwan on Tuesday.
During the meeting, they reviewed relations between Qatar and Russia and the prospects for strengthening and developing them, especially in the security field.
The meeting also discussed the efforts of the two countries in the field of combating terrorism, in addition to a number of regional and international issues of common concern.
Following the meeting, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and the Secretary of the Russian Security Council witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding in the security fields between Qatar and Russia.
The meeting and the signature signing ceremony were attended by a number of Qatari ministers and members of the Russian delegation.
Later, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani hosted a luncheon banquet in honour of Nikolai Patrushev and his accompanying delegation at the Amiri Diwan. The banquet was attended by a number of ministers.
