Qatar International Boat Show (QIBS) 2020 will take place from March 18-21 at Porto Arabia, The Pearl-Qatar.

Celebrating its seventh edition, the show will connect the "world’s most privileged yacht and boat manufacturers, service providers, local dealers, suppliers and potential buyers in an exclusive B2B and B2C platform to showcase the latest products and services in the marine industry", Al Mannai Plus Events said in a press statement while officially announcing the event.

Khaled Essa al-Mannai, chairman of the organising company, addressed the media on the upgraded features of the upcoming show, which will be held in strategic partnership with United Development Company (UDC), master developer of The Pearl-Qatar.

During the press conference, al-Mannai said QIBS is one of the premier luxury events in Qatar where marine enthusiasts and industrialists can discover the "greatest aspects of the industry’s products and services".

The show "continues to attract a large number of participating companies with a 58% increase recorded in 2019 compared to 2017", it was highlighted.

Al-Mannai added that the rapid growth despite the current geopolitical challenges underlined economic strength and resilience under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.

Commenting on the show’s main objectives, al-Mannai said QIBS marks an effort to preserve the centuries-old relationship of the natives with the sea, in addition to its role in positioning Qatar as a regional hub for luxury, highly skilled craftsmanship and modern boats and marine-related accessories.

Based on these objectives, QIBS provides a "single shopping window to luxury lifestyle enthusiasts of the region".

The show’s 2020 edition "promises to feature some of the world’s most prestigious manufacturers and suppliers together with a cross-section of ultra-luxury advisers who drive hundreds of millions in luxury yachting and boating revenue annually and represent independent and affiliated agencies with premium yacht companies", according to the organisers.

Al-Mannai encouraged regional luxury lifestyle product manufacturers and traders to benefit from the show to showcase their products and services.

Dr Loay Dalis, executive consultant of Al Mannai Plus Events, said due to the high demand and expected increase in participating exhibitors, the exhibition area will be 12,000sq m this year, a 100 % increase compared to 2019.

Dr Dalis noted that there would be some featured events on the opening day and on the Gala Dinner night, March 19.

In addition, there will be several entertainment attractions.

The official expressed gratitude to the management of UDC for hosting the event at The Pearl-Qatar, specifically at the Porto Arabia marina gates 23-27, in collaboration with UDC’s marina management subsidiary, Ronautica Middle East.
