Qatar Armed Forces celebrated National Sport Day by organising competitions that included football, volleyball, basketball, cricket and other games.
The celebration was organised under the patronage of HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah, and in the presence of HE the Chief of Staff of Qatar Armed Forces Lt General (Pilot) Ghanem bin Shaheen al-Ghanem, HE Deputy Chief of Staff for Administration and Logistics Affairs Major General (Pilot) Mubarak bin Mohamed al-Kumait al-Khayarin.
The activities were attended by senior officers, non-commissioned officers and individuals from all units of the Qatar Armed Forces and the friendly forces, with the participation of the families of members of the Qatar Armed Forces.
Staff Brigadier General Yousef Dasma al-Kuwari, president, Military Sports Association, said that the main objective of these activities is to consolidate the sporting mindset of members of the armed forces and urge them to continue practising sports. (QNA)
