With the wide participation of ministries, governmental entities and private establishments, and the huge turnout, the Cultural Village Foundation Katara organised Tuesday a variety of activities during the National Sports Day celebration along the waterfront and Katara Beach.
General Manager of Katara Dr Khaled bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti said: "Katara has become a distinguished destination on such occasions considering the facilities and the services it provides to the public, as we make sure about the good organisation and providing various safety conditions so that visitors spend wonderful times."

Al-Sulaiti also added: "Every year, we are working on introducing new happenings, as the activities' list for this year includes innovative sporting activities and new participation of entities from the sports, educational or recreational field, which makes the Katara Sports Day programme a comprehensive event."
Seventy governmental, sports and private entities, including several ministries, official institutions, sports federations, and health centres, as well as private companies.
Chairman of the Organizing Committee of Katara Sports Day Events Abdul Rahman Jassem Al Tamimi, said: "Katara has become a favorite destination for sports fans on the Sports Day, because of its various facilities, vast spaces and beach that allow visitors to practice all kinds of sports in a beautiful and enjoyable family atmosphere.
Al Tamimi stressed the organising committees keenness to the professional organisation of the event and the availability of quality services for the public such as providing transportation vehicles (club cart) for visitors, especially for the elderly and people with special needs.
Regarding the participation of the Qatari Armed Forces, Lt Salem al-Dosari, the supervisor of the Qatari Armed Forces website, said: "We have about 70 trainers present at the site to supervise and provide various sports activities in an enthusiastic atmosphere, and this the fourth year in a row that the Qatari Armed Forces participates in Katara activities on the Sports Day".
