A miner died and four others were injured on Friday
after a tremor occured at a depth of 1,100 metres in a copper mine in
Poland, local media report.
The tremor occurred before 1 pm (1200 GMT) at the Rudna mine, owned
by copper group KGHM. Five miners were located in the affected area.
The deceased miner was a 35-year-old father of two, the firm said.
The injured miners were transported to hospital. One of them has a
broken leg and a head injury. The remaining three suffered minor
injuries.
KGHM is Poland's largest producer of copper and a world leader in
silver production.
