The Armed Forces Shooting Championship and the Pistol Shooting Championship for Officers for the sports season (2019-2020), organised by the Military Sports Association, concluded on Wednesday with the participation of 11 teams representing the forces, arms and units, of officers, personnel and friendly forces, under the patronage of HE the Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces Lt-General (Pilot) Ghanem bin Shaheen al-Ghanem.
The final day included a rifle shooting competition, in which the Qatar Amiri Naval Forces won the first position, and a pistol shooting competition, in which the Qatari Amiri Border Guard won the first position.
The Joint Special Forces won the General Excellence Shield after winning most of the individual and team competitions.
At the end of the ceremony, HE Lt-General (Pilot) Ghanem bin Shaheen al-Ghanem honoured the winners of the first positions in the individual and team competitions, and handed over the General Excellence Shield to Commander of the Joint Special Forces Major General Hamad bin Abdullah al-Fetais al-Marri, in the presence of senior officers of the Qatari Armed Forces.
