Doha Municipality's gardens section, in co-operation with Public Gardens Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), has beautified an area of 700sqm at the Old Airport park near the Al Matar Al Qadeem station of Doha Metro.
The area has been decorated with 100sqm of white pebbles and also features a green space measuring 100sqm, 50 shrubs and 3,500 seasonal flowers, the MME has said in a statement.
Also, as part of the decoration, the phrase 'Qatar 2022' has been written with flowers on a small plateau formed in the middle of the said area.
The Old Airport decoration marks the beginning of similar projects to be carried out in the vicinity of all Metro stations within Doha Municipality, the statement adds.
