Al Khaliji Commercial Bank (Al Khaliji) has supported as Silver Sponsor for the ‘Compliance and Combating Financial Crime Conference’ event, a high-level gathering of bankers held recently in Doha.
The conference was held in the backdrop of a vastly-changed landscape for financial institutions that are increasingly coping with new domestic and international risks.
For two days, the world’s foremost financial crime and compliance experts discussed matters related to financial crime risks and associated compliance obligations and how the financial institutions nowadays have to dig deeper into their customer profiles.
The conference was held under the patronage of HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Saoud al-Thani, the Governor of Qatar Central Bank (QCB), and hosted by QCB, Union of Arab Banks, and World Union of Arab Banks.
Commenting on this occasion, Al Khaliji Group CEO Fahad al-Khalifa said: “Our sponsorship of the ‘Compliance and Combating Financial Crime Conference’ aligns with the Qatar National Vision 2030, which features a strategic priority to create a functional knowledge-based economy free of any illicit money movement.
“To this end, we were happy to be the driving force behind this definitive conference, which presented talks and interactive panel discussions by renowned regional and international experts and policymakers.”
