The second day of the ‘Made in Bangladesh’ exhibition, which concludes today (January 30) at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC), witnessed several B2B meetings between Qatari and Bangladeshi companies.
Highlighting the three-day expo was a visit from Bangladesh’s State Minister of Foreign Relations, Shariar Alam, who visited different stalls, and met with the participants and the exhibition’s organisers.
Exhibitors of the ‘Made in Bangladesh’ expo also visited Qatar Free Zone (QFZ) in the morning to observe how Bangladeshi businesses could utilise the QFZ to setup their offshore centres. Also, a seminar was held yesterday on the booming information and communication sector of Bangladesh.
Jahongirbek Burhonov of the Qatar Financial Centre, Bangladesh High Tech Parks Authority’s (BHTPA) Hosne Ara Begum, Bangladesh Association for Software and Information Services’ (BASIS) Syed Almas Kabir, and Asmaa al-Hemaidi from the Ministry of Transport and Communications’ TASMU project were among the speakers of the seminar, which was moderated by Qatar University lecturer, Dr Kazi Monzure Khoda.
During the morning session, Qatari companies from various sectors attended the B2B meetings with their Bangladeshi counterparts. Stalls specialising in F&B, ICT, ceramics, pharmaceuticals, and fashion recorded significant footfall, while visitors enjoyed Bangladesh’s culinary delights located at the expo’s food corner.
The second day of the exhibition concluded with a showcase of Bangladeshi fashion and culture, which included abayas and leather products from Bangladeshi entrepreneurs. Students from Bangladesh MHM School and College Qatar put together cultural shows during the event.
