Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), part of Qatar Foundation, will conduct three community classes in February and March with each four-day course providing participants tools to succeed in a challenging business environment.
Classes begin with a ladies-only session on enhancing communication and life skills, which also covers presentation techniques and the power and effect of words.
This is followed by a class on how effective communication leads to better decision making, particularly in team settings.
The series concludes with a course offering practical advice on delivering impactful and influential speeches.
Developed with students and business professionals in mind, sessions include developing core messages and ideas, the importance of body language, and tailoring speeches to specific audiences.
Maryam al-Mannai, vice president, Student Affairs, said: “While HBKU is a world-class university with a suitably global outlook, we never forget the importance of encouraging positive transformation at home. To this end, these classes support our efforts to engage with local communities and provide potentially life-changing skills.
“The modern business world is fluid, competitive and littered with potential pitfalls. Our classes will demonstrate that even the most-complex challenges can be overcome with confident and effective communication.”
Classes will take place at the Minaretein, Education City, with the following dates and times: Communication and Life Skills from February 16-19 from 5pm-7pm (Ladies only, Arabic language); Effective Communication, from February 23-26 from 5pm-7.30pm (Arabic language) and Master Public Speaking, from March 1-4 from 5pm-7.30pm (English language).
