Al Sheehaniya Municipality’s Municipal Control Department conducted 11,198 inspection tours within its jurisdiction in 2019.
A total of 429 violation reports were issued last year, of which 201 were resolved through reconciliation with the violators on payment of the stipulated fines, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) said in a statement. Health control inspectors carried out 1,442 inspection tours at various food establishments there, such as restaurants, warehouses and supermarkets, to ensure that food items were fit for human consumption.
The food control section issued 42 violation reports and 84 whole livestock carcasses were destroyed for being infected. The department also issued 197 violations of the public hygiene law, while 197 abandoned vehicles were removed from different places in Al Sheehaniya.

Al Rayyan Municipality conducted 15,456 inspections last year
Al Rayyan Municipality carried out 15,456 inspections on various food establishments within its administrative borders during 2019, a statement by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) said. While 235 violations were recorded, notices were distributed to 235 establishments. Food items were found unfit for human consumption in 392 cases. The supervisors of the municipality, in 2019, supervised 60,945 slaughters at private slaughterhouses and 538 samples were sent to the central laboratory for quality checking.
