More than 12,000 people visited the Qatar Foundation (QF) booths at the Doha International Book Fair (DIBF), which concluded Saturday, QF said in a statement.
The fair, which saw Qatar Foundation Vice-Chairperson and CEO HE Sheikha Hind bint Hamad al-Thani attend the first day of the event, allowed QF to showcase its literary excellence through its national reading initiative, Qatar Reads.
Al-Jazi al-henzab, project manager, Qatar Reads, said: “Participating in the Doha International Book Fair was a great way to build bridges with the community, which is key to designing our programmes. It’s important to listen to the needs of the nation so that we can integrate reading into their daily lives and create positive habits.” Other QF entities and programmes that participated include the Akhlaquna Award, Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press and the Qur'anic Botanic Garden, with Qatar National Library also exhibiting.
