*Qatar Airways showcases new planes at Kuwait show

The Civil Aviation Authority and Qatar Airways are participating in the Kuwait Aviation Show, which began in Kuwait on Wednesday.

Qatar Airways is showcasing two of the newest aircraft in its fleet.

The airline displayed its ultra-modern Airbus A350-1000 alongside its state-of-the-art Gulfstream G500.The national carrier also announced new destination plans for 2020.

The Kuwait air show is an important platform for regional and international airlines to showcase the latest products and services in the aviation world.

More than 300 exhibitors, 60 aircraft, 15,000 visitors from the sector, and 60,000 visitors interested in aviation will participate in the event.

Chairman of Qatar's Civil Aviation Authority HE Abdullah bin Nasser Turki al-Subaey said the exhibition confirms that Kuwait is ready to enter as a major competitor in organising aviation exhibitions in the region, expressing his happiness at Qatar's strong participation in the show.

He pointed out that Kuwait attached great importance to the development of infrastructure for the air transport sector, believing in the importance of investment in the civil aviation industry.

He also affirmed the strong social and economic relations between the two countries, expressing his hope that this participation will achieve the desired goals in a way that serves the common interests of the two brotherly peoples.

For his part, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive HE Akbar al Baker said: "The Kuwait Aviation Show is the perfect platform for us to kick start the New Year and unveil some of our exciting plans for 2020."
