The organising committee of Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (Dimdex) has announced Mwani Qatar as a silver sponsor of the event's seventh edition, which will take place at Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) from March 16 to 18.
Held under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, Dimdex 2020 will be hosted and organised by the Qatar Armed Forces under the theme ‘Connecting the World’s Maritime Defence and Security Community’.
Highlighting the significance of the sponsorship agreement, Staff Brigadier (Sea) Abdulbaqi S al-Ansari, chairman of Dimdex, said: “For the upcoming 2020 edition, we are delighted to further strengthen our collaboration with Mwani Qatar and welcome the nation’s leading seaport and shipping terminal operator, as a silver sponsor.
"This association highlights a common effort towards the progressive development of Qatar’s maritime security sector through advanced technology and infrastructure capabilities. It also forms an extension to one of the integral features and key highlights of Dimdex: the visiting warships display.”
With the support of Mwani and the facilities of Hamad Port - one of the largest ports? in the Middle East, Dimdex will be able to accommodate visiting vessels of international navies while welcoming patrons to visit and experience the warships and meet the crew, a press statement notes.
Since its inaugural 2008 edition, Dimdex has welcomed more than 80 naval ships from around the world to dock at Qatar’s leading seaports.

As a distinguished sponsor, Mwani Qatar will benefit from the event’s "unparalleled international exposure", the statement adds.
