Qatar Insurance Company (QIC) has announced that it is sponsoring the Katara International Exhibition for Kahraman (amber). The event, which opened Wednesday, will display rare and expensive beads made of authentic 'kahraman' from around the world.
A first of its kind, the exhibition will bring together traders and collectors of kahraman beads, along with experts making the beads by hand from natural fossilised resin. The exhibition will also display how amber beads are measured and perforated, as well as various parametres used for quality tests.
Commenting on the partnership, QIC deputy CEO Fahad al-Suwaidi, of stated, “As the leading insurer in Qatar, we have a long standing commitment towards upholding the tradition of Qatar and in playing a vital role in the sustainability of Qatar’s social fabric.”
He added: “Through sponsorships such as this, we want to showcase Qatar’s rich culture and deep rooted heritage. In fact, we have always ensured that the core values of our business and operating principles align with our objectives for Corporate Social Responsibility.
