As part of its efforts to protect the society from drug hazards, authorities concerned at the Ministry of the Interior thwarted an attempt to smuggle a quantity of cocaine into the country.
An Interior Ministry statement said that the General Directorate of Drug Enforcement (GDDE), in co-ordination with the Airport Security Department, arrested a gang consisting of two women and a man, who attempted to smuggle 10kg cocaine into the country.
Immediately after holding the gang the GDDE has taken the necessary measures and the gang has been referred to the competent authorities to complete the procedures in such cases, the statement added.
