Commercial Bank has won three awards from Global Finance magazine in recognition of its leading digital services in the local market.
The awards were in the following categories – ‘Best Mobile Banking App’, ‘Best Online Cash Management and Best Trade Finance Services’ and ‘Corporate Digital Banking’.
The awards add to the bank’s list of achievements and accolades that reinforce Commercial Bank’s leadership in digital and transaction banking innovation.
On the awards, Commercial Bank Group chief executive officer Joseph Abraham said: “Commercial Bank is committed to digital innovation to enhance the experience of our clients. Receiving these three awards from a renowned awarding body reflects the strength and breadth of our best-in-class digital products and validates our strategy of investing in innovative technologies.
“Our goal is to be the Qatari bank of choice for retail and corporate customers and we will continue to roll out new and innovative digital products that make banking easy and convenient.”
The winning banks were selected on the following criteria: strength of strategy for attracting and servicing digital customers; success in encouraging clients to use digital offerings; growth of digital customers; breadth of product offerings; evidence of tangible benefits gained from digital initiatives; and web/mobile site design and functionality.
Commercial Bank has heavily invested in digital technology to make its banking services more convenient for customers including revamping its Mobile Banking App, launching a first-to-market 60-second digital remittance service which rapidly credits beneficiary accounts in more than 30 countries same day, and launching more than 430,000 contactless cards with ‘Tap N’ Pay’ technology reaching more than 2mn transactions for quick and easy purchases.
Commercial Bank has won several awards from local and international organisations in 2018 and 2019, including a ‘Financial Technology Innovation Award 2019’ for its 60-second digital remittances (The Asian Banker), ‘Best Retail Bank in Qatar 2019’ for the third year in a row (by The Asian Banker), ‘Best Bank in Qatar 2018’ (Global Finance), ‘Best Cash Management in Qatar 2018’ for the third year in a row (The Asian Banker) and ‘Best Transaction Banking service in Qatar 2018’ (The Asian Banker).
