The Qatar Calendar House announced Saturday that it will organise an event to publicise the solar eclipse phenomenon and its various types in co-operation with the Qatar Centre for Space and Astronomy Science Sunday in the main hall of Sheikh Abdullah Al Ansari Complex at Dafna.
It said that the event comes ahead of the rare annular eclipse phenomenon that will be witnessed in the skies above Qatar. The event aims to educate the public about this phenomenon.
Qatari astronomer Sheikh Salman bin Jaber al -Thani is expected to deliver a lecture at the event.
The Qatar Calendar House reported that accurate astronomical calculations confirmed that the residents of Qatar will see and monitor the rare annular solar eclipse with the sunrise on Thursday, December 26. This phenomenon has not been witnessed in Qatar for more than a century, and will be seen again after more than a century.
