In Canberra, Qatar’s ambassador to Australia Saad bin Abdullah al-Mahmoud hosted a reception on the occasion of Qatar National Day.
The reception was attended by Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland Curtis Pitt, Chief of Protocol at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs Kate Logan and a number of senior representatives of official political, parliamentary, diplomatic, economic and military institutions in Australia, as well as the Grand Mufti of Australia, leaders of Arab communities and Islamic societies and the Qatari students in Australia.
The Chief of Protocol at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs extended congratulations on the occasion of Qatar National Day.
For his part, the Qatari ambassador commended the strong friendship relations and the fruitful joint co-operation between Qatar and Australia. The ambassador stressed the joint keenness to develop bilateral relations to serve the interests of the two friendly countries, expressing thanks and gratitude to everyone contributed to enrich the relations between Qatar and Australia.
