Indian Businessmen and Professionals Council (IBPC), an apex organisation under the aegis of the Embassy of India, recently organised an interactive business networking session for the professional associate organisations registered under IBPC at Holiday Inn Hotel Business Park.

The event witnessed over 200 participants from 24 professional Indian associate organisations including chartered accountants, engineers, doctors, dentist, nurses, pharmacists, quantity surveyors, HR professionals, travel agents, businessmen and entrepreneurs as well as alumni of Indian engineering colleges including IIT (Indian Institutes of Technology) among others.

IBPC president Azim Abbas welcomed the gathering and highlighted that IBPC is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2019.

“This is the first time in the history of IBPC that a platform has been provided to the associate organisations to present their objectives and network amongst each other and with members of IBPC to achieve our long-term goals of driving IBPC to be a dynamic, inclusive and purposeful business council, benefiting its members with a wider participation of professional associate organisations from the Indian community” said Abbas.

The chief guest on the occasion was P Kumaran, ambassador of India. The ambassador in his address expressed his appreciation for the role IBPC is playing for providing such networking and development sessions for its members and associate organisations.

Yusuf al-Jaida, CEO and board member of the Qatar Financial Centre was the keynote speaker who highlighted Qatar as an investment destination and the importance of the Qatar National Vision 2030.

Dr Rajeev Kumar, senior consultant psychiatrist at Hamad Medical Corporation, delivered a presentation on stress management.

The event ended with an entertaining programme by Manish Tyagi, a stand-up comedian from India.
