His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani has received cables of congratulations on the occasion of Qatar's National Day from HE the Shura Council Speaker Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud and a number of leaders of Arab, Islamic and other friendly countries.
HE al-Mahmoud's cable of congratulations also included greetings from the members of the council. The Amir responded with a cable of thanks.
The Amir received a message from Oman's Sultan Qaboos bin Said, Moroccan King Mohamed VI, Tunisian President Kais Saied, Iraqi President Barham Salih, Lebanese President General Michel Aoun, and the President of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas.
The Amir also received a cable of congratulations from US President Donald Trump who expressed the congratulations of American government and people.
The US president praised the bilateral relations and the role of Qatar, under the wise leadership of the Amir, in advancing bilateral and regional relations as well as establishing peace and security through its ongoing contribution to the global alliance.
President Trump also expressed his thanks for the indispensable partnership with Qatar, saying he looks forward to further co-operation in the coming year, and expressed his country's commitment to expanding the strong bilateral partnership.
The Amir responded with a cable expressing his thanks, and stressed that Qatar looks forward to enhancing its strategic co-operation and partnership with the United States in all fields to serve the interests of the peoples of the two countries.
The Amir also received cables of congratulations from a number of leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, French President Emmanuel Macron, President of China Xi Jingping, Indian President Ram Nath Kovind, President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, and South Korean President Moon Jae-in.
Separately, His Highness the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani also received cables of congratulations on the occasion of Qatar National Day from leaders, deputies and crown princes of friendly countries.
HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani also received cables of congratulations on the occasion from heads of governments of friendly countries.
