HE the Minister of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs Dr Ghaith bin Mubarak al-Kuwari has stressed that Qatar has overcome all challenges, and has continued its path with a clear vision, unprecedented plans and programmes, and advanced strategies supported by solid wills and ambitious projects to fortify our state against all risks and crises and to complete its progress and rise under the leadership of His Highness the Amir, and his rational government, and Qatar has been able to realise in the last two years, achievements that have impressed the world and overcome the blockade.
The minister said in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion of the country’s National Day that this celebration is an occasion to renew the covenant with the values on which the ancestors of Qatar were founded, pointing out that they have endured the difficulties to achieve the unity of the homeland, and the people were united under one banner.
“Today we see the fruit of their sincerity and their struggle and thanks to the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, Qatar is achieving victory after victory, and Qatar’s children are enjoying distinguished higher education, they are present in all disciplines, achieving the development of the country, proud of their national identity, their history, language and religious values”.
The minister added that that the National Day is an occasion to honour the founders of the country, and every speck of soil in Qatar bears witnesses to a chapter that fulfils the vision of the founder and the vision of the wise leadership.
The minister emphasised that the founder’s generation did not establish the country easily. They sacrificed for Qatar, and they were armed with faith and determination, and Qatar became among the safest and most stable countries in the world, and a model of excellence, development, prosperity and economic well-being, with apparent adherence to religious and national principles.
He noted that the land of Qatar has achieved an eloquent message that tells the story of close cohesion between the leadership and the people, and a message to citizens and residents on the land of Qatar, that Qatar has succeeded because it combined tradition and modernity, so it held its values, history and heritage, and at the same time it was open to the values of modernity.
The Minister of Endowments said: “The youth should be aware that past generations have made achievements and did not have the possibilities that the present generation are enjoying. Now, thank God, and thanks to the wise leadership, Qatari youth have what they need to contribute to better future”, adding that whole world is following the achievements of the people of Qatar, and its youth have to be aware of this issue, so they strive, distinguish and rise in the pursuit of science.
The minister affirmed that the ministry is working in full harmony with the government system, and its efforts are focused on achieving spiritual stability in the country and consolidating the moderate middle course, and in the recent period, it has focused on qualifying its staff, improving its services, and upgrading its departments to perform its duties according to what the law has authorised them.
He pointed to the development strategy of 2018-2022, the ministry has opened lines of co-operation with many parties in the country in the educational, social, health and cultural fields according to an original perspective of comprehensive cultural security, and through the endowment resources, it has contributed to many development projects inside the country, and through the resources of the Zakat Fund, it has contributed to combating some aspects of fragility in society. The ministry, through the Department of Islamic Affairs, supervised the implementation of many projects abroad within the framework of Islamic relations.
