Qatar Chamber (QC) has participated in the 52nd meeting of the Federation of GCC Chambers (FGCCC) held in Muscat on December 12. The chamber’s delegation led by QC second vice chairman Rashid bin Hamad al-Athba included board member Abdulrahman Abduljalil Abdulghani, QC director general Saleh bin Hamad al-Sharqi, economic expert Dr Mohamed Ibrahim and legal researcher Hamad Ali al-Merri.
Attendees of the meeting welcomed and agreed to Qatar’s hosting of the meeting of the FGCCC executive committee in February 2020.
The meeting ratified the minutes of the 51th meeting of the FGCCC held on June 15, 2019 and followed up on its recommendations. The agenda also reviewed recommendations of 45th and 46th meetings of the executive committee and discussed proposed amendments to the statute and internal system of the federation.
It also included the appointment of auditor for the year 2019 and discussed the annual report of the FGCCC General Secretariat for the year 2018. The meeting also discussed the 2020 budget and updates of the establishment of the new headquarters of the federation. Meanwhile, the chamber’s delegation participated in the EU-GCC Business Forum held in Muscat under the theme ‘Technology as an enabler for future growth and prosperity’ with the participation of about 450 delegates from both the GCC region and the EU. Experts discussed the role that both current and future technology will play in education, logistics and manufacturing sectors.
