Darb Al Saai activities for Qatar National Day 2019, which were launched on Thursday, continues to attract large numbers of visitors from all walks.
Yesterday afternoon, the venue received large numbers of people, especially families with their children, who were keen to take part in the various activities. Horse and camel riding, basketball, science and technology games, colouring activities, a miniature traffic village, different police exercises presented by the Police College and other military activities and shows by the Ministry of Defence and various other activities are among the attractions.
The venue is fully equipped and arranged for the convenience of the visitors with multiple entrance and exit points from different directions with proper signage to guide the visitors. There are also a good number of toilets at various locations, points of medical services, assistance counters and a variety of retail outlets including shops selling groceries, fast meals, herbs, perfumes, toys, souvenirs and gifts, local tradition dishes, and others.
Throughout the venue, there are adequate numbers of staff to assist the visitors. At each entrance, children are given a paper bracelet to wear with the name and phone number of their parents in order to easily reunite them with their parents in case they get lost in the crowd.
Besides volunteers from Qatar, there is also a team of volunteers from Kuwait to take part in the celebrations of Qatar National Day as Qatar had taken part in Kuwait National Day earlier this year.
The organising committee has put a time schedule for various categories of visitors. Today (Saturday, December 14) is dedicated for families only from 9am-1pm and 3.30pm-10pm. Tomorrow (Sunday, December 15) will be open for all, with the same timings. Again, December 16 will be allocated for families from 9am-1pm, and the afternoon session will be open for all from 3.30pm-10pm. The same will be applicable on December 17, with the afternoon period allocated for women only. December 18 and 19 will be open for all during the two shifts and the closing day of December 20 will be open for all from 2pm until 11pm.
The participating entities include Qatar Foundation, Qatar Rail, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Ministry of Municipality and Environment, Qatar University, Qatar Charity, Souq Waqif, Doha Film Institute, and various other public and private entities covering a wide range of fields and activities that would appeal to all.
Darb Al Saai has come to be a distinctive feature of the annual National Day celebrations that gives Qatar residents an immense sense of joy and entertainment as they express their love and loyalty for the country, which provides stable, secure and prosperous living conditions for all residents.
