Qatar University (QU) returns to Darb Al Saai this year with an array of educational and cultural activities to mark the country’s National Day.
The QU celebrations at its tent, which began yesterday (December 12) and runs until December 20, aims to strengthen its leadership role in society and keenness to be a fixture in leading community, cultural and intellectual festivals, events, and conferences.
This year, QU’s tent will include different zones: one hosting various interactive activities for children (such as art with Arabic calligraphy, painting and colouring), a section led by Morooq (QU’s farm, which sheds light on agriculture), physical health tests in the health zone, a virtual reality room by the engineering zone, a media studio, and an astronomy pavilion.
Ahmad Alyafei, manager of events and protocol at QU, said: “The university’s participation in this year’s Darb Al Saai’s celebrations emphasises on QU’s goal to engage with the local community and to be a part of the cultural and intellectual events such as the National Day.”
QU’s wing also provides an opportunity to promote communication with the local community and to showcase the faculty, staff and students that make up QU as scholars, intellectuals, writers and creators with their own distinct qualities.
