Lebanese ambassador to Qatar Hassan Najem said Qatari-Lebanese relations are based on mutual respect, unaffected by world events. He also described relations between the two peoples as innate and friendly, adding that citizens of both countries always regarded one another as brothers in two different geographical areas.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion of Qatar’s National Day celebrations, the ambassador pointed out that there are many areas that prove Doha and Beirut have strong relations. He noted, for example, Qatar’s standing alongside Lebanon, especially in times of crisis, which Lebanon also exchanged according to the possibilities and circumstances.
The ambassador expressed his country’s desire and conviction to develop relations with Qatar to the fullest possible extent, stressing that these relations would help support the sincere desire to achieve the common interest of both peoples. The ambassador also expressed his deep conviction and hope that the relations between the two countries will develop further and rise to the highest level of relations between countries.
Ambassador Najem extended his warmest congratulations and sincere feelings to the State of Qatar, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, the government and the Qatari people on National Day, which reminds everyone annually what the Founder Sheikh Jassim bin Mohamed bin Thani did to fortify the state and proceed in the path of growth, development and construction.
He said that it is a memory that carries many meanings every year of motivation for the present and future generation, pushing them to maintain what has been achieved and follow the giant renaissance that Qatar has known in many fields, stressing that in record time, Qatar became among developed countries in terms of growth and active presence on the Arab and international arenas.
Ambassador Najem proudly hailed, as an Arab citizen, the keenness of all citizens of Qatar to raise the status of their homeland and devote to the concept of national unity in the face of challenges, as well as their adherence to the unity of the position, feelings, ambitions and hopes that characterised the march of the state. He added that many of Qatar’s stages were based on the awareness of the good people of Qatar and their great ability to withstand, innovate and turn difficulties into opportunities that strengthens the immunity of their homeland.
The ambassador praised the many accomplishments that Qatar has achieved at various levels, expressing his firm belief that behind every resolve there is a motivation. He noted that this approach was the cornerstone of building achievements and the accumulation of what has been achieved to establish Qatar’s presence on the international arena, as well as on the Arab and Islamic arenas.
The ambassador stated, “We have witnessed how Qatar faced the recent challenges that turned into an opportunity for construction and development, while maintaining the prestigious standard of living for citizens.” He added that the Qatari economy also increased and diversified steadily towards achieving water and food security, noting that Doha remains present in the international policy map, and a logical path to many solutions at the level of chronic crises in the region, stressing that this credit belongs to His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani.
Lebanese ambassador Hassan Najem
