Qatar Olympic Academy has signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Culture and Sports to enhance the concept of training, qualification and professional development of national cadres in sports clubs and organisations, to achieve the aspirations of Qatar National Vision 2030 and the National Development Goals in the related fields of sport.
The agreement was signed by Executive Director of Qatar Olympic Academy Saif al-Nuaimi and the Director of the Sports Affairs Department at the Ministry Isa al-Harami.
Al-Nuaimi said the Academy was pleased to sign the agreement with the Ministry of Culture and Sports as an initiative for the academy to enter the scope of training in the sports sectors in the country. “The academy will provide many training courses with the Ministry of Culture and Sports and will announce in the coming days a set of courses in co-ordination with the ministry to accommodate the number of trainees,” he said.
Al-Nuaimi indicated that the academy has a special agenda and a programme in sports education management, which is adopted by the International Olympic Committee.
“The academy has an annual agenda, and the new sessions with the ministry will be within a special calendar for the Academy and will be in co-ordination with the ministry,” he added.
Meanwhile, al-Harami said that these courses will cover all the sports sector, whether clubs or federations such as bowling, chess, billiards and snooker. He said the courses will be free of charge for employees and affiliates of Qatari clubs.
