HE the Speaker of the Shura Council Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud, yesterday met the delegates attending the 7th Global Conference of Parliamentarians Against Corruption currently being held in Doha.
HE al-Mahmoud met the Chairman of Global Organisation of Parliamentarians Against Corruption, Dr Fadli Zon, on the sidelines of the GOPAC conference.
During the meeting, the relations of parliamentary co-operation between the Shura Council and the Global Organisation of Parliamentarians Against Corruption and ways of enhancing them were reviewed.
The Speaker also met the Secretary-General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Martin Chungong. During the meeting, the relations of parliamentary co-operation between the Shura Council and the Inter-Parliamentary Union were reviewed.
HE also met the President of the National Assembly of Mali Issaka Sidibe, and his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed, according to which the two parties agreed to enhance parliamentary co-operation to strengthen the bonds of friendship between the Qatar’s Shura Council and the National Assembly of Mali.
On the sidelines of the conference, the Speaker also met the President of the Senate of Somalia Abdi Hashi Abdi, and Vice-President of the House of Representatives of Rwanda Musa Fadel.
The two meetings reviewed the relations in the parliamentary field between Qatar and  Somalia and Rwanda and ways to enhance them.
