Katara — the Cultural Village Foundation has announced that its Qatar National Day celebrations will be held from today until December 19.
Featuring some 40 different activities, the Qatar National Day programme at Katara has been organised in co-operation with various ministries and government and private entities.
The celebrations will be held at the Katara Esplanade from 3pm-10pm.
Saif Saad al-Dosari, director of Human Resources at Katara, addressed a press briefing in this regard on behalf of Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti, general manager of Katara.
He said Katara is keen to offer its visitors an “excellent collection of artistic, cultural and heritage events this year, in addition to some military shows and a parachuting display, which enjoy considerable popularity”.Other activities and events include folkloric shows featuring members of expatriate communities from some 20 Arab and other countries living in Qatar.
Besides, there is an operetta titled ‘This is Qatar’, which will have two performances on December 17 and 19, to be followed by fireworks and drone shows.
Meanwhile, a number of arts workshops and various related activities will be held in co-operation with different private and government entities and organisations.
The celebrations will also coincide with the FIFA Club World Cup, which is held in Qatar for the first time from today until December 21.
In addition, the activities of the ninth Katara Traditional Dhow Festival will continue until December 16.
