His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, the Chairman of the Supreme Council for Economic Affairs and Investment, chaired on Wednesday the council's fifth meeting of 2019 at the Amiri Diwan.

His Highness the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani and Their Excellencies the members of the council attended the meeting.

The council discussed topics on the meeting's agenda and took the appropriate measures regarding them.

It also reviewed governmental initiatives that aim to incentivise the private sector through public-private partnerships to guarantee that projects are completed quickly, enhance the private sector's contribution to the economy, attract local and foreign investments, encourage innovation, and create new job opportunities.

The council also reviewed the public-private partnerships in the fields of logistics, food security, construction, industry, manufacturing, education, and healthcare.

They also discussed future projects related to establishing low-cost warehouses and central markets in different areas of the country.

The council then viewed a presentation on connecting government initiatives and Qatar National Vision 2030 programmes, particularly strategic ones in food security, manufacturing, Tawteen and free-zones.
