Qatar Museums (QM) organised a clean-up day at Freiha — one of the country’s most important settlements, in the presence of Chairperson HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, it was announced yesterday. In alignment with the Qatar National Vision 2030, which emphasises the importance of creating a sustainable environment, QM is moving towards a renewed focus on protecting the environment — particularly when it comes to heritage sites, according to a statement. The initiative was organised in collaboration with the Doha Environmental Actions Project (DEAP), a volunteering organisation leading the beach clean-up movement and fight against plastic pollution in Qatar.
