The Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah issued on Tuesday an Amiri Order appointing Sheikh Sabah al-Khaled al-Hamad al-Sabah as prime minister, replacing Sheikh Jaber al-Mubarak who expressed his inability to accept the post.

According to Kuwait's news agency, the Amiri order stipulated that Sheikh Sabah al-Khaled will be tasked to nominate the new cabinet members and submit their names to the Amir to issue the decree.

The Amiri order canceled a previous order that was issued on Monday appointing Sheikh Jaber al-Mubarak as prime minister.
