He called for listening to young people whose actions have already topped those of educated elites in a changing world, highlighting the role of education in spreading critical thought and the values of freedom, justice, science and work. He pointed out at the same time, that people need culture just as they need dialogue and acceptance of the difference to strengthen their identities, because the achievement of security is always conditional on respect for cultures and identities.
He also underlined the need to achieve major goals to ensure the security of humanity through culture, education and science and the importance of reviewing concepts above all.
The minister appreciated the Unesco team, stressing the need for all efforts to strengthen the role of the Organisation around the world.
