Qatar, represented by the Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Fawzia Abdulaziz al-Khater, chaired the meeting of the Education Committee as part of the 40th session of the General Conference of Unesco currently being held in Paris.
During the committee’s meeting, a number of items on its agenda relating to follow-up of the implementation of the programmes and decisions adopted by the Executive Council and the General Conference of the organisation at their previous sessions were discussed.
The current session of Unesco, which began on 12 November, focuses on the study of new multilateral approaches on pressing issues such as higher education, artificial intelligence and other related issues, as well as on the role of youth in the change industry, and the role of culture in public policy, sustainable development and other issues.  - QNA
