The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced a temporary traffic shift on parallel lanes on Al Corniche Street between Al Sheraton Intersection and Qatar National Theatre Intersection from Saturday for a period of six months.
Implemented in co-ordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, the measure is to facilitate the construction of a pedestrian underpass. During the period of closure, traffic on Al Corniche Street coming from Doha and heading towards Al Dafna between National Library and Sheraton Intersections as well as traffic coming from Al Dafna and heading towards Doha between National Library and Qatar National Theatre Intersections will be shifted onto parallel lanes as shown on the map.
Ashghal will install road signs advising motorists of the temporary traffic shift and has requested road users to abide by the speed limit and follow the road signs to ensure safety.
