Qatari Businessmen Association (QBA) organised a meeting with Felix Ramon Gonzalez, Venezuela’s Minister of Tourism & Foreign Trade, and the accompanying delegation during their visit to Qatar to attend Hospitality Qatar exhibition.
The meeting was also attended by Giuseppe Angelo Yoffreda Yorio, Venezuela’s ambassador to Qatar.
Qatari Businessmen Association was represented by Sheikh Nawaf bin Nasser al-Thani, QBA Board Member; and Salah al-Jaidah, Maqbool Khalfan, Ihsan al Khiaymi and Mohamed Althaf, QBA Members.
Gonzalez thanked QBA members for the meeting and said his visit was aimed at discussing ways for collaboration in the tourism sector and means to enhance bilateral investments between the Qatari businessmen and their counterparts from the Venezuelan side.
The Venezuelan Minister said his country has “many attractive investment advantages” and is “rich in natural resources and open for foreign investment”.
For instance, more than 300,000sqm of land suitable for tourism investment is available. The country also has huge reserves of oil and gold.
At the end of the meeting, the Venezuelan minister thanked the Qatari side for the warm welcome and invited QBA members to visit Venezuela.
He also proposed signing an MoU between QBA and its counterpart in Venezuela to follow up on the meeting and prepare for the visit of the Qatari delegation to the South American country. 
Sheikh Nawaf welcomed the minister and his accompanying delegation, and stressed on the importance of the visit and efforts aimed at boosting economic and trade relations.
He also highlighted the interest of Qatari businessmen in seeking investment opportunities in Venezuela, especially in the tourism sector.
QBA members also stressed the keenness of the State of Qatar to develop relationship with all countries around the globe.
