An Islamic State fighter deported by Turkey is
stranded in a buffer zone between the Greece and Turkish borders, the
private DHA news agency reports.
Showing a video of the man between the two border gates, DHA said
that he is "supposed to be American," and was captured during
Turkey's offensive in north-eastern Syria launched last month.
Turkey on Monday said it had deported the first foreign Islamic State
fighter, a US citizen.
According to DHA, the Greek authorities wouldn't accept the Islamic
State suspect, who was taken to a Turkish border checkpoint at
Edirne, in north-western Turkey.
Greek officials sent him back on foot to Turkey, who refused to
accept him. In the video, he can be seen walking about and waving his
hands in the buffer zone.
