Unsettled weather, marked by rain and strong winds, are expected to affect the country from Friday (November 8) noon until the end of next week, the Qatar Met department has said.

In a report on Tuesday, the department said unsettled weather conditions are expected during the above-mentioned period due to the extension of a low-pressure system over the region.

The weather is expected to become cloudy intermittently and there is a chance of rain in most areas, ranging in intensity from moderate to heavy at times in some areas, the report states.

The rain may become thundery at times, accompanied by strong winds exceeding 30 knots, which may cause blowing dust and low visibility of below 2km at times. It may also result in a sudden rise in the wave height, going up to 10ft at times.

The prevailing winds during this period will be northeasterly to easterly and the maximum temperature will be in the early 30Cs, which is considered around the average level for this time of the year.

The Qatar Met department has urged everyone to be cautious and avoid all marine activities due to the expected unsettled weather conditions. It has also advised them to follow the latest updates through its official social media accounts.
