HEC Paris in Qatar has launched the fourth consecutive Middle East-Africa (MEA) Mid-Management (M3) programme for Alstom.
The programme aims to offer selected participants “access to the renowned faculty and learning methods of HEC Paris and reinforce the exceptional management skills of Alstom’s key talent in the region”, a press statement notes.
Tailored to the participants’ needs and designed in conjunction with Alstom, a total of 25 candidates from the Middle East, Africa, Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States region were chosen for the M3 Programme, which will take place between Istanbul and Paris over the next 6 months.
This programme is designed to develop mid- level managers’ skills and core competencies in line with the objectives of Alstom in the Middle East and Africa.
It is also intended to alleviate their capacity to become influential change agents in their work environment and to build a network of colleagues and partners who share the same culture and experience.
Followed by the success of last three programmes, this year again both organisations came forward for the MEA Mid-Management (M3) programme. The first module is taking place from November 3-7 in Istanbul, Turkey, and the next module will be held in April 2020 on the HEC Paris campus.
“After three years of successful partnership with HEC Paris, we are proud to Kick-off the 4th cohort in Istanbul. The M3 programme has had a real impact in the development of our local talents, and their personal leadership skills. It’s indeed helping them achieve their professional goals and deliver results for Alstom,” said Walfa Chouki, vice-president, Human Resources MEA at Alstom.
The first module, ‘My world My company’, aims to offer an opportunity to the participants to step back from day-to-day operations and learn about geopolitics, macroeconomics, business strategy, operational excellence, finance and value creation, among other topics.
Subject matter experts such as Charles Matar, Thierry Coudurier and Oliver Tabatoni will shed light on critical subjects.
Through the second module, ‘Me and My leadership’, participants will be able to understand themselves better.
They would be able to discover and study their personality, profile preferences and behaviours.
During the course, they will also learn how to effectively work in teams, and to apprehend and analyse their communication style and relation to others. This module will be held on April 20-24, 2020.
Professor Patrick Delamaire will talk about ‘Leading, Working and Contributing in Complex Organisations’ while Christian Monjou will reflect his insights on ‘Strategy and Leadership’, an analogy with Versailles’s Petit Trianon.
Veronique Nguyen will enlighten participants on ‘Understanding and Leading Change’.The session will conclude with Simon Elliot discussing ‘Intercultural Management & Teamwork’.
