Ooredoo and Mada join hands to digitally enhance lives of persons with disabilities

Ooredoo, the region’s leading enabler of digital business innovation, has announced a partnership with Mada, the Assistive Technology Centre Qatar, to leverage the latest technologies to digitally enhance the lives of persons with disabilities.
As part of Ooredoo’s commitment to giving back to the Qatar community, the company will enhance its products and services portfolio for persons with disabilities, it has said in a press statement.
The announcement was made at Qitcom 2019.
Yousuf Abdulla al-Kubaisi, chief operating officer (COO) of Ooredoo Qatar, said: “At Ooredoo, we believe that technology is a key enabler for empowering the people of Qatar and supporting the societal transformation goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
Qitcom is an ideal platform to announce our partnership with Mada to showcase best practices in providing digital accessibility for persons with disabilities.”
Mada is a private institution for public benefit.
Founded in 2010, Mada is an initiative that aims at promoting digital inclusion and building a technology-based community that meets the needs of persons with functional limitations, persons with disabilities and the elderly in Qatar.
Among its wide-ranging activities, Mada builds the capabilities of digital access specialists, provides digital accessibility consulting services and accreditation and advisory services.
