The Asjad Jewellery Exhibition will open to the public on Friday (tomorrow) at Al Hazm and continue until November 7, it has been announced.
The exhibition is being held for the first time in Qatar, and the participating companies will sell their products directly to visitors without going through agents.
The daily timings of the exhibition are from 12noon to 10pm.
Mohamed Abdul Karim al-Emadi, chief executive officer, Al Hazm, stressed that Asjad would showcase many new high-end jewellery products in gold, diamond, pearl and precious stones for the first time in the country, brought directly by the suppliers and manufactures. Some 80-90 local and foreign companies, including from India, Kuwait, Asia and Europe, have confirmed their participation in the event and some more international companies have also expressed their desire to join the event, the official said at a conference on Tuesday.
Al-Emadi said the designated exhibition hall has been fully prepared by the Al Hazm management, with all necessary decorations, installations and equipment put in place ahead of the grand event.
“We prepared everything and supplied all the necessary logistics and display equipment and installations, down to the finest and smallest details. Every exhibitor, whether local or international, will have a designated booth with the necessary furnishings and accessories. They will only have to bring their goods and staff and display them to the public,” he explained.
The exhibition is being held in co-operation with De Beers Jewellers, which specialises in diamond exploration, mining, retail, trading and
industrial diamond manufacturing.
“We have been preparing for the exhibition for almost four months and its main focus is on direct sales to the public at reasonable prices from the suppliers themselves. In this distinguished exhibition, we want to give our visitors an elite luxury experience through the very special ambience of Al Hazm,” said al-Emadi.
He expects the exhibition to serve as a valued addition to the Qatari market and offer new business opportunities for the country. It is not meant to compete with any other event in its category but rather offer new areas to explore, which will reflect positively on the local market in different sectors such as tourism, hospitality retail and transportation, among others.
He also appreciated the positive co-operation of the various authorities and entities concerned in the country, in particular the General Authority of Customs, for facilitating the relevant procedures for the entry of goods and give the participants a hassle-free experience. This, he stressed, reflects the intention of the government to further boost the private sector and help attract more
foreign investments to the country.
Al-Emadi expressed hope that there would be another edition of the exhibition in the future, building on the success of the upcoming event.
