The Cabinet's regular meeting, presided over by HE the Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani approved a draft decision of the Prime Minister to nominate the president, vice-president and members of the National Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism Committee.
Earlier the Cabinet also approved a draft decision by the Minister of Commerce and Industry establishing the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism Committee and defining its competencies.
The Cabinet also approved the Cabinet's draft decision to issue the executive regulation of the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism Law issued by Law No 20 of 2019.
Following the meeting, HE the Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr Issa Saad al-Jafari al-Nuaimi stated that the Cabinet reviewed topics on its meeting's agenda as following:
It approved a draft law amending some provisions of the Labour Law promulgated by Law No 14 of 2004.
According to the amendment, one or more committees for settling labour disputes shall be formed, as stipulated in Article 115 bis/1 of the law, by a decision of the Minister of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs.
The Cabinet then approved the following:
- A draft law amending some provisions of Law No. 14 of 2018 on the unified economic register.
- A draft decision of the Minister of Commerce and Industry on strengthening the transparency of commercial companies and authorizing the real beneficiary.
The Cabinet approved a draft decision of the Minister of Municipality and Environment considering Riffa area as a natural reserve.
The Cabinet also took the necessary measures to ratify an agreement on the cancellation of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, private and official passports between the governments of Qatar and Angola, a Maritime Transport Agreement between the governments of Qatar and Angola, an agreement on the Promotion and Protection of Mutual Investments between the governments of Qatar and Angola, and an agreement on Economic, Commercial and Technical Co-operation between the governments of Qatar and Angola.
The Cabinet also approved a draft memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority (ACTA) in Qatar and the Palestinian Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) for co-operation in the field of preventing and combating corruption, a draft declaration of joint intentions in the field of digital technology development, digital innovation and entrepreneurship between the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Qatar and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany.
The Cabinet reviewed the proposed amendments to Penal Code issued by Law No 11 of 2004, and the Law No 23 for 2004 regarding Promulgating the Criminal Procedure Code. The Cabinet then took the appropriate decision.
