The Ministry of Interior (MoI)'s pavilion at Qatar IT Conference and Exhibition (Qitcom 2019) is highlighting the latest security innovations in the country. Qitcom 2019, organised by the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC), is being held at the Qatar National Convention Centre until November 1.
The MoI’s pavilion features presentations by a number of departments, including the General Directorate of Information Systems, Security Systems Department, Cyber Security Centre, National Command Centre, Communications Department and the Economic and Cyber Crimes Combating Department.
Sections representing these departments envisage a large number of security systems and electronic services for the public. New initiatives include the security robot for facial recognition as well as other types of latest equipment, mechanisms and devices such as drones. Latest systems developed at the National Command Centre are also on display at the pavilion. The systems are aimed at facilitating the response to disasters and crises, and also cover crime analysis.
The Security Systems Department is presenting state-of-the-art equipment such as drones, which are fitted with cameras to secure various activities and locations, the security robot that is also equipped with a number of cameras with the aim of carrying out security tasks in hard-to-reach areas like confined spaces and others.
The Cyber Security Centre is showcasing its central operations room that enables the centre to respond quickly to and deal with any potential cyber attacks. The Economic and Cyber Crimes Combating Department features educational presentations on how to deal with such offences, as well as how to protect personal devices and credentials.
