The first TV reporter workshop sponsored by Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the Ethiopian Broadcasting Authority opened here on Tuesday as part of a series of media development initiatives.
Dignitaries present on the occasion included HE Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lolwah Al-Khater, and Qatar's Ambassador to Ethiopia Hamad al-Dosari.
Addressing the opening ceremony, HE Lolwah Al-Khater congratulated the friendly Ethiopian people on their Prime Minister winning the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize, noting the efforts exerted by his government to achieve peace and stability in the African continent.
She stressed that these efforts are inspiring people who aspire to peace around the world.
HE Lolwah Al-Khater stressed Qatar's support for the positive reforms witnessed by Ethiopia, adding that "Qatar hopes that cooperation in the field of media development will be a positive step that will push forward bilateral relations between the two countries".General Director of Ethiopian Broadcasting Authority Dr Getachew Dinku thanked Qatar for its cooperation and support in the field of media development, recalling his visit to Qatar and his admiration of its media scene.
He expressed hope that cooperation will contribute to the enhancement of Ethiopia's media capabilities and the development of this field.
