Qatar Airways has congratulated the latest seven graduates of its internationally-recognised Aircraft Mechanic Apprenticeship programme during an official graduation ceremony at Doha International Airport.
Managed by the award-winning airline’s Technical Department, a total of 18 apprentice mechanics and engineers have now successfully completed the programme in 2019, with a further 40 trainees set to graduate in 2021.
The programme offers graduates with the appropriate Certificate of Recognition the opportunity to build upon their existing academic and technical skills, whilst gaining direct experience of Qatar Airways culture and procedures.
Qatar Airways Group chief executive, HE Akbar al-Baker, said: “We look forward to having our new graduates, who are vital for the future growth plans of Qatar Airways join our highly trained technical department. Having a strong and capable technical team creates a foundation for us to keep our aircraft flying and its passengers travelling, and I would like to congratulate the latest round of candidates for successfully completing the Aircraft Mechanic Apprenticeship Programme.
“These new graduates will play a pivotal role in maintaining the safety and efficiency of Qatar Airways’ fleet and we look forward to celebrating the achievements of the next group of programme graduates in 2021.”
