As part of it’s ongoing efforts to improve and develop the work environment, the Educational Supervision Administration under the Ministry of Education and Higher Education yesterday organised a meeting for its mentors.
The meeting was also aimed at chalking out various measures for the development of the educational sector and improving the educational outputs, the official website of the ministry said.
The meeting was presided over by the director of the department Moza bint Ali al-Mudhahka and attended by the heads of various sections.
Teams for the evaluation were formed within each department and they held self-assessments and reviews during the meeting.
The evaluation witnessed collecting data from multiple sources through the examination of documents, individual and group interviews and questionnaires.
The results of the general evaluation showed that educational institutions achieved management objectives by 90% 2018-2019 while the satisfaction rate of schools for the academic year 2018-2019 stood at 87%. The rate in 2017-2018 was 80%. The meeting also discussed the most important developments for the current year.
Meanwhile, the department, according to the website, has set priorities for the current year.
They are; support schools to improve student learning and raising academic achievement, improve the professional competence of the educational counsellor and tempt him to perform his role, enable the co-ordinator to act as a school-based counsellor, improve the professional competence of teachers and primary teachers in particular and implement curricula developed to ensure the promotion of values, national heritage and core competencies.
These priorities were determined based on several inputs including analysing the results of the annual evaluation of the Educational supervision administration plan for the previous year.
